  • Patriots round-up Diamondbacks Even without their main offensive weapon in the lineup the Veterans Memorial Patriots improved their overall record to 5-2 and their district record to 2-1 with a 33-19 victory over the Sharyland Pioneer Diamondbacks Friday night at Tom Landry Stadium. Patriots’ senior quarterback Santos Villarreal, who is still recovering from a high ankle sprain he suffered two weeks ago against the Sharyland Rattlers, watched from the sidelines in street clothes as his backup, sophomore Diego Read More
  • Rattlers defense stifles Gladiators Sharyland platooned three quarterbacks, scored four touchdowns and played solid defense en route to a 28-6 homecoming game victory over Roma on Friday at Richard Thompson Stadium to remain undefeated in the District 31-5A and in the hunt for the title. “I’m happy and proud of our boys,” Sharyland head coach Ron Adame said. “Roma came in and they didn’t lay down for us, they gave us their best. • OPINION: Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. It’s been said many ways by a variety of sources, but it still comes to the same reality: If you don’t like what you’re getting, change what you’re doing. Hidalgo County and South Texas politicians, candidates and their campaign workers have made negative headline news for decades – almost a century. They range from actionable professional misconduct by politicians to illegal activity committed in conjunction with their public office: misdemeanors, DWI arrests, suspensions, sanctions, ethics violations, Read More
  • Singleterry once faced suspension in federal court There was a period from 2008 to 2010 in which Luis Singleterry, candidate for 92nd District Court, didn’t handle a single federal court case. They need more information about the candidates – more than just their biographies and campaign slogans. TCFlogoThe Texas Citrus Fiesta has dealt with the Mission Progress Times since its founding 36 years ago. This is the main newspaper that we rely on to get our information out to the public.

The results of advertising and running press releases with them regarding our non-profit organization are great. The proof is in the attendance that we have. We can brag about our parade with participants and spectators that number 100,000 people!

We are lucky to have our own hometown paper. They treat us like family and care about what is going on in our community.

The BillFilut_testimonialMission Progress Times has great customer service and responds immediately to our needs. We really are enjoying their new look that shows that they keep up with the times. We look forward to continue working with them for many years to come.

Sincerely, William (Bill) Filut
President, TCF
