Registration Underway For Classic Car Show

Registration is being accepted for the Mission Market Square Classic Car Show to be held Saturday, March 3, at the Mission Market, one block west of Conway on Tom Landry (10th Street).

The more than 25 award winners at the fourth annual show will share in more than $4, 000 in cash and prizes.

Car owners will be competing in the following categories:

- Classic. Any 1976 or older auto/truck in original or restored to original condition and specifications.

- Hot Rod/Custom. Vehicles 1950 and older with modifications to drive train, body, suspension, interior, paint or wheels. Includes graphics, special paint, flames and pin-striping.

- Street Rod/Custom. Vehicles 1951 to 1976 with modifications to drive train, body, suspension, interior, paint or wheels. Includes graphics, special paint, flames and pin-striping.

- Muscle Cars. Automobiles 1964 to 1976, any factory, high performance American car in original or restored to original condition and specifications.

Best of show in each of these categories will receive $250, with $150 for second and $100 for third.

Other prizes include $100 each for best paint, best flames, best engine compartment, best interior, long-distance award, best custom paint, outstanding convertible/roadster, outstanding truck, outstanding foreign car and most unique.

Pre-registration, which can be done by mail or fax, will end on March 1. The first 50 entries will receive T-shirts and goodie bags filled with what sponsors described as "great stuff."
