Rick Rigsy to speak at Mission Baccalaureate

Considered among America’s finest speakers, Rick Rigsby, will be bringing his unique and challenging message to the Mission Baccalaureate Service honoring the 2008 graduates from Mission High School, Veterans Memorial High School and Sharyland High School at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at the V.F. Neuhaus Health & P.E. Center on the Mission High School campus.

Following a successful career as a television news reporter for a CBS affiliate in Northern California, Rigsby began graduate studies, earning a Master’s degree at California State University, Chico, followed by his Doctorate from the University of Oregon. For the last two decades, Dr. Rigsby has served as a college professor—the last 14 years at Texas A&M University—where he continues to serve as chaplain for the Aggies football team.

Consistently ranked a top-rated speaker and audience favorite, Dr. Rigsby now devotes his full attention to empowering people. As president of Rick Rigsby Communications, and founder of Rick Rigsby Ministries, he speaks to audiences as diverse as churches in the jungles of Nigeria, to top corporate executives on Wall Street. He’s a popular motivational speaker among high school students, and a favorite devotional speaker at Christian colleges and chapel services for numerous teams in the National Football League.

Dr. Rigsby resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Janet, and four sons ranging in age from first grade to college graduate.

The Baccalaureate Service is sponsored by a Prayer Group that took over the responsibility of organizing the event in 1975. Members of the committee are: Mr. and Mrs. Mike Broughton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Caudle, Mr. and Mrs. John Compton, Mr. and Mrs. David Crook, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gossett, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Perryman, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Rush, Mrs. Tommy Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. John Womack. The committee is supported by the generous donations of local businesses, organizations and individuals in the community.
