LA Joya student receives 'AP Scholar with Honor' award

Martin Flores, a senior at La Joya High School, was recently recognized as an "AP Scholar with Honor." This award is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of three or higher on four or more of these exams.

"Being an AP Scholar with Honor, is truly an honor. I have given so much time and effort to the AP program because it is so enjoyable and gratifying. It has not been an easy task, but it’s paid off," says Flores.

The AP Program offers several AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams. Although there is no monetary award, this achievement is acknowledged on any AP Grade Report that is sent to colleges the following fall.
