Fair Housing, It’s the Law

     To promote fair housing practices, the City of Palmview encourages potential homeowners and renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law.

     Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental of units in the housing market.

     For more information on fair housing or to report possible fair housing discrimination, call the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s toll-free hotline at 1-800-669-9777.

Policy of Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Handicapped Status

The City of La Joya does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in the admission or access to, or employment in, its program or activities.  Mike Alaniz has been designated to coordinate compliance with the nondiscrimination requirements contained in the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) regulations implementing Section 504 (24 CFR Part 8. dated June 2, 1988).

PERMISO NO. WQ0014884001

SOLICITUD Y DECISION PRELIMINAR.  The City of Peñitas, P.O. Box 204, Peñitas, Texas 78576-0204, ha solicitado a la Comisión de Calidad Ambiental del Estado de Texas (TCEQ) para renovar el Permiso No. WQ0014884001 del Sistema de Eliminación de Descargas de Contaminantes de Texas (TPDES) para autorizar la descarga de aguas residuales tratadas en un volumen que no sobrepasa un flujo promedio diario de 750,000 galones por dia.  Este permiso no autorizara una descarga de contaminantes a las aguas del estado.  La TCEQ recibió esta solicitud el June 15, 2012.

La planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales domésticos esté ubicada 2300 Chihuahua Road, Peñitas en el Condado de  Hidalgo Texas. La ruta de descarga es del sitio de la planta directamente al Rio Grande abajo del Falcon Reservoir en el Segmento Numero 2302 del Rio Grande River Basin.  Los usos para el Segmento Numero 2302 son los siguientes: vida aquatica – alta, fuente de agua publica, y actividades recreativas de contacto.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION AND PRELIMINARY DECISION
FOR TPDES PERMIT FOR MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER
RENEWAL

PERMIT NO. WQ0014884001

APPLICATION AND PRELIMINARY DECISION. City of Peñitas, P.O. Box 204, Peñitas, Texas 78576-0204, has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a renewal of TPDES Permit No. WQ0014884001, which authorizes the discharge of treated domestic wastewater at a daily average flow of 750,000 gallons per day.  TCEQ received this application on June 15, 2012.

The facility is located at 2300 Chihuahua Road, Peñitas approximately 2,000 feet east of the intersection of 19th Street and Military Road (1427) in Hidalgo County, Texas 78576.  The treated effluent is discharged directly to the Rio Grande Below Falcon Reservoir in Segment No.2302 of the Rio Grande Basin.  The designated uses for Segment No. 2302 are high aquatic life use, public water supply and contact recreation.  All determinations are preliminary and subject to additional review and/or revisions.
