NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS LA JOYA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT’S Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) LA JOYA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT will hold a public meeting at 5:30 P.M., October 9, 2013 in the Central Administration at Nellie Schunior Staff Development Center 200 West Expressway 83, La Joya, Texas The purpose of this meeting is to discuss La Joya Independent School District’s rating on the state’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).

The Planning and Zoning Department will hold a public hearing on October 16, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Alton City Hall’s Chambers, 509 South Alton Blvd, Alton, Texas in order to consider a conditional use permit for a Junior’s Supermarket for the sale of Wine and Beer Retailer’s Off-Premise Permit (BQ) located at 215 W Main Ave. Anyone interested is invited to attend and voice their concerns. Notice of Tax Revenue Increase

The City of Palmview conducted public hearings on September 12, 2013 and September 19, 2013 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the City of Palmview from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 1.97 percent.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year’s tax rate of $0.4665 for each $100 of taxable value was $893,373.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.4665 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $909,172.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.4665 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $928,447.

The City Council of City of Palmview is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 26, 2013 at 400 W. Veterans Blvd. at 6:00 PM.


Small Taxing Unit Notice

The City of Sullivan City will hold a meeting at 6:30PM on September 25, 2013 at 500 Cenizo Drive, Sullivan City, Texas to consider adopting a proposed tax rate for tax year 2013. The proposed tax rate is 0.4160 per $100 of value.

The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in City of Sullivan City by 8.00%.
