October 12, 2012 - Mission Housing Authority

PUBLIC NOTICE

Public notice is given that due to shortage of rental units in our current jurisdiction the Housing Authority of the City of Mission, Texas will extend the jurisdiction up to Peñitas area to the West one additional mile to include all property up to Tom Gill Road and North to 7 mile line (FM 107).  We invite landlords within this area to lease their rental units under the Leased Housing (Section 8) Program.  Interested landlords may call (956) 585-9749 / 585-9756 or visit our office located at 1300 E. 8th Street-Mission, Texas for more information on the process to register the rental units under the Section 8 Program.  The extension of jurisdiction was a decision by unanimous vote of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority at its July 18th, 2012 Regular Board Meeting and the permission of the Hidalgo County Housing Authority.

CITY OF LA JOYA
URBAN COUNTY PROGRAM
DATE OF PUBLICATION: OCTOBER 5th, 2012

In compliance with the Consolidated Plan for Community Planning & Development (CDBG, HOME, ESG), the City of  La Joya will conduct a public hearing to solicit input from interested parties on the City of La Joya’s needs under the 26th year Urban County Program Year 2013.           

The overall goals for the Consolidated Plan are to strengthen partnerships with jurisdiction, to extend and strengthen partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including profit and nonprofit organizations, to enable them to provide decent housing, to establish and maintain a suitable living environment, and to expand economic opportunities for every citizen, particularly for very low income persons.

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION AND

PRELIMINARY DECISION FOR AN AIR QUALITY PREMIT

PERMIT NUMBER 51094

            APPLICATION AND PRELIMNARY DECISION Valley Caliche Products, Inc., PO Box 1086, Mission, Texas 78573-0017, has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for an amendment to Air Quality Permit Number 51094, which would authorize modification to a rock crushing plant located approximately 1 mile south southeast of the intersection of Mile 3 Road north and Iowa Road, Mission, Hidalgo County, Texas 78504. This application was submitted to the TCEQ on June 8, 2012. The facility will emit the following contaminants: particulate matter including particulate matter with diameters of 10 microns or less and 2.5 microns or less, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and organic compounds.

The executive director has completed the technical review of the application and prepared a draft permit which, if approved, would establish the conditions under which the facility must operate. The executive director has made a preliminary decision to issue the permit because it meets all rules and regulations. The permit application, executive director’s preliminary decision, and draft permit will be available for viewing and copying at the TCEQ central office, the TCEQ Harlingen regional office, and at the Speer Memorial Library, 801 East 12th Street, Mission, Hidalgo County, Texas, beginning the first day of publication of this notice. The facility’s compliance file, if any exists, is available for public review at the TCEQ Harlingen Regional Office, 1804 W Jefferson Ave, Harlingen, Texas.
