September 14, 2012 - Mission Housing

PUBLIC NOTICE

Public notice is given that due to shortage of rental units in our current jurisdiction the Housing Authority of the City of Mission, Texas will extend the jurisdiction up to Peñitas area to the West one additional mile to include all property up to Tom Gill Road and North to 7 mile line (FM 107).  We invite landlords within this area to lease their rental units under the Leased Housing (Section 8) Program.  Interested landlords may call (956) 585-9749 / 585-9756 or visit our office located at 1300 E. 8th Street-Mission, Texas for more information on the process to register the rental units under the Section 8 Program.  The extension of jurisdiction was a decision by unanimous vote of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority at its July 18th, 2012 Regular Board Meeting and the permission of the Hidalgo County Housing Authority.

September 14, 2012 - City of Penitas Notice of Tax Revenue Increase

NOTICE
OF TAX REVENUE INCREASE

     The City of Peñitas will conduct public hearings on September 14, 2012 and September 18, 2012 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the City of Peñitas from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 35.36 percent.

     The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.3625 for each $100 of taxable value was $514,149.

     The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.4620 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $656,204.

     The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.4620 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $677,966.

     The City Council of City of Peñitas is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held September 25, 2012 at 1320 South Main, Peñitas, Texas 78576 at 06:00 PM.

September 14, 2012 - City of Mission Public Notice

The Mission City Council will hold a regular meeting on September 24, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 1201 East 8th Street, Mission, Texas in order to consider the following:
Rezoning: A 240.43’ x 196.76’ tract out of Lot 108, Sharyland Orchards Subdivision, from (R1-A) Large Lot Single Family Residential to  (C-1) Office Building.
If a zoning is amended during the public hearing, it shall be pursuant to the City of Mission’s Amendatory Zone Policy Statement. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
