NOTICE OF VACANCY
The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) is advertising for the following position:
Technician III
(Information, Referral & Assistance)
LOCATION: Harlingen AAA-1514 South 77 Sunshine Strip, Suite 16
SALARY: $24,000-$28,000
DUTIES: Duties include organizing and collecting data on available services and resource agencies, and maintaining the Agency's resource library. In addition to assisting in the implementation of the Access and Assistance component of the agency in relation to information, Referral and Assistance assesses needs of older persons and/or their families and provides consistent information regarding community resources and advocates on the individual's behalf to assure continued independence, and assists in brokering services by identifying appropriate and monitoring of services to elderly persons and maintaining records on service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in gerontology, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field, plus at least (2) two years of relevant experience; or high school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least (6) six years of relevant experience in social service work especially in working with caregivers and/or the elderly; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
