Mr. Hodgson brings 'Grease' to the stage - again

20101201_VMHS_Grease_DressRehearsal_0193The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Harlequin Drama Club has rehearsed, studied the movie, the characters, and the play performed eight years ago. Now they are ready for lights to shine bright on the stage as they perform “Grease” to a full house for the second time tonight.

Eight years ago, under the tutelage of drama teacher James Hodgson, the Harlequin’s performed “Grease” in the gym. There was no real stage, and they were very limited to props and how much space they had.

Hodgson said the productions finally feel more normal now that they can be performed in the auditorium that was built a few years ago.

VMHS presents 'Grease'

VMHS_Drama_grease-rehearsalThe Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Harlequin Drama Club is revisiting the past, in more ways than one with their upcoming stage production. The group is proud to present Grease on Dec. 2-4, and 9-11. Curtain time for each day is 7 p.m.

Not only does Grease harken back to years past, but this production also holds a special place in the Harlequin's history. Grease was one of the first productions by the Harlequins almost eight years ago when the only place they could put on performances was in the school gymnasium.

Tickets can be purchased at the VMHS front office during the school day and in the lobby of the VMHS Fine Arts Building after 4:15 p.m. They can also be purchased at the door prior to each performance beginning at 6:15 p.m. Tickets will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.
