Curandero author to speak at MOSTH

EDINBURG – On Sunday, April 15, the Museum of South Texas History hosts author and curandero (healer), Alberto Salinas Jr., as he presents “Conversations with a Curandero Border Healer” starting at 2 p.m. The program is included in the fee for regular museum admission. Growing up in the small South Texas town of Raymondville, during the 1950s, Salinas was exposed to a region in the midst of change. However, Salinas, like many, was raised in a spiritually traditional family who sought the advice and healing powers of curanderos.
