VeggieTales® celebrates 20th birthday on tour

PHARR – It's a very Veggie birthday and the public is invited to Join Bob and Larry and the entire VeggieTales® crew as they put on the biggest birthday party ever celebrating VeggieTales' 20 years of stories, songs and fun. It happens on Friday, April 12, at the Trinity Worship Center at Nolana and Expressway 281.

The show is filled with silly song favorites and memorable entertainment. The tour will feature fan-favorite songs like “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything,” “His Cheeseburger,” “I Love My Lips,” “Song of the Cebu,” “The Hairbrush Song,” “Monkey” and “God is Bigger than the Boogie-Man.”

RAIN tour recreates ‘Beatles’ experience

20130329 rainHIDALGO – Die-hard Beatles fans that can’t get enough of the band that changed the world’s music scene will have their chance to take a step back in time on April 11. RAIN will make a stop at State Farm Arena with their “Beatles Tribute.” The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m.

After a critically-acclaimed Broadway engagement, RAIN is sharing the experience in their 2013 tour. Fans can look forward to favorites such as “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be” and “Hard Day’s Night,” as well as studio-recorded songs the band never performed for audiences.

ResacaFest 2012 rescheduled for July 14

SAN BENITO – After heavy rains called a halt to ResacaFest last month, organizers rescheduled the event for Saturday, July 14, 2-11 p.m.

Live music, food and family-styled fun will be capped with a fireworks exhibit over the Resaca at 10 p.m. The public is invited to participate in this community event.

Aaron Lewis to perform July 1

20120622 AaronLewisCountry artist Aaron Lewis is bringing his solo act to the Pharr Events Center, 3000 N. Cage, on Sunday, July 1. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Lewis began his solo musical journey at age 17. He was a founding member of the rock group Staind. As a group, they released seven studio albums.

The singer/songwriter has built his career on his vocals with acoustic and electric guitar. His entrance into country music began with his solo album “Town Line,” but his first, full-length solo, “The Road,” is set to be released June 26 by Blaster Records. The album’s debut single “Endless Summer” has already made it onto the country charts.
