21st Annual RGV Home and Garden Show presents ‘There really is no place like home’

20110401_AndreaOverallsSmilingIf you’re dreaming of buying a new home or planning to build your dream home, you can find everything you need at the 21st Annual RGV Home and Garden Show. This year’s event will be held at the McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center Blvd., April 1–3. The show will be open Friday, April 1, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 3, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Weslaco Onion Fest is March 26

McAllen food festival scheduled for March 24

20110318_TonyPerez_IMG_3918Everything is ready for the 10th Annual International Food Festival hosted by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, March 24 at the McAllen Convention Center. McAllen Chamber invites visitors to savor fine cuisine from several McAllen and Rio Grande Valley restaurants.

RGV Livestock Show is underway

20110311_LEG_6373fThe Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show goes into full swing today and runs through March 20. Visitors will be able to see many breeds of cattle, rabbits and other livestock raised by Valley students competing for top prizes and money.

The 11-day event will include rodeos, barrel racing, concerts, live entertainment and exhibits by FFA and 4-H students from across the Valley.

World’s Smallest Art Fair debuts this Friday

Studio owner Marco Valdez has taken the suggestions of the young movers and shakers of the McAllen Arts District and is answering their prayers. In a refreshing twist on the Art Walk, he has organized The World’s Smallest Art Fair, an event that will start with the March Art Walk.
