VMHS presents 'Grease'

VMHS_Drama_grease-rehearsalThe Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) Harlequin Drama Club is revisiting the past, in more ways than one with their upcoming stage production. The group is proud to present Grease on Dec. 2-4, and 9-11. Curtain time for each day is 7 p.m.

Not only does Grease harken back to years past, but this production also holds a special place in the Harlequin's history. Grease was one of the first productions by the Harlequins almost eight years ago when the only place they could put on performances was in the school gymnasium.

Tickets can be purchased at the VMHS front office during the school day and in the lobby of the VMHS Fine Arts Building after 4:15 p.m. They can also be purchased at the door prior to each performance beginning at 6:15 p.m. Tickets will cost $5 for students and $10 for adults.

Thriller comes alive in downtown McAllen

Thriller_05

Several events are taking place during Halloween on Oct. 30. The main attraction is happening in downtown McAllen on 17th St., between Chicago and Dallas Ave. Zombies and ghouls will be dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Four years ago, Jasmine Rico-Garcia started organizing the event for the Valley. She decided a dance party such as this would be more enjoyable and great entertainment. When she found thrilltheworld.com, it became a bigger project with bigger goals in mind. So Jasmine took up the calling to teach anyone that wanted to learn “Thriller” in hopes that someday, she'd have the whole Valley dancing in unison with the rest of the world.
