The McAllen Chamber of Commerce and Casa Guanajuato proudly present “Mariachi Clown,” an unusual and entertaining experience for the whole family. This is a living statues show based on three Mariachi players that on their intent to perform Mexican music end up making a series of scenic games and humorous improvisations.
“Mariachi players are painted in green, white and red respectively bringing the colors of the Mexican flag,” said Luis Cantu, vice president of Inter American Relations for the Chamber. “They wear big moustaches and even their instruments are painted in the same color.”
Maricahi Clown was put together for The Universal Expo in Japan and after that they began a tour through California, Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Philadelphia and North Carolina. They have also performed in France, Canada, Peru and Mexico.
Mariachi Clown will perform at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. The event is free to the public but seating is limited.
