HIDALGO – State Farm Arena hosts Latin Grammy Award winner Marco Antonio Solis in a live performance this weekend on stage Saturday, Aug. 3. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Mexico-born heartthrob began his career path at age 6 with Los Hermanitos Solis and steadily blossomed into a 47-year career as a musician, composer and record producer.
The tenor formed the group Los Bukis in the 1970s, and the band made their name known throughout Central, South and North America over the next 20 years hitting the Hot Latin Tracks chart.
But, in 1995, the Latin Pop artist decided to take on a solo career, and his star status as a solo artist took off. Overall, he has been in the Top 10 spot on Hot Latin Tracks with 24 songs since 1994, with 10 of those in the No. 1 spot.
Solis has been recognized for his work as an inductee into Billboard’s Latin Hall of Fame and secured his star status emblazoned on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 2010.
Ticket prices for the one-night performance range from $49 to $150 and are available at ticketmaster.com or at the Arena box office in Hidalgo.
