New Cinemark Movie Bistro opens this weekend

cinemark-movie-bistroEDINBURG – “Dinner and a movie” takes on a whole new meeting for local movie-goers with the opening of Cinemark’s crown jewel in the Valley this weekend. The new Cinemark Movie Bistro now offers the first in-theatre dining experience for Valley audiences, plus a few extras to sweeten the experience. It’s located at 2001 W. Trenton.

“Cinemark has called the Texas Valley home for over 20 years, and we are excited to introduce a brand new concept,” states Tim Warner, Cinemark’s chief executive officer. “The new Cinemark Movie Bistro offers our customers the highest quality presentation available paired with an enhanced dining experience.”

A soft opening was conducted last weekend with a VIP event last night. Now, the six-screen theatre opens its doors to the public with its grand opening today and tomorrow, Aug. 30 and 31.

The first 50 customers who purchase a ticket each day at the box office will receive a free Cinemark swag bag filled with logo items and movie giveaways. Bags are limited to two per customer. Live radio remotes from Valley stations will take place this weekend and next.

Featuring six, all-digital auditoriums with wall-to-wall screens, four of them are RealD 3D capable. Each row of the premium, plush seating—with snack tables—allows for a clear view of the screen.

The expanded dinner menu features appetizers, pizzas and flat breads, sandwiches and wraps, quesadillas and tacos and more, in addition to the traditional line-up of concession stand favorites. Delivery service before the movie makes it even more convenient.

Cinemark is offering their early bird first matinee ticket price each day for $5.75 and the adult matinee before 6 p.m. for $7.25. Seniors get into any show time for $5.25 all day on Mondays, and then there is Discount Tuesday with tickets for $5. Regular ticket prices range from $6.75 for children under 12 and seniors 62-plus to $9 for adult evening tickets and $9.50 for Friday and Saturday after 6 p.m.

Tickets purchased online can be printed, or patrons can download and purchase tickets through Cinemark’s mobile applications. Go to cinemark.com to sign up for weekly mailers with online coupons and discounts at the concession stand.

With the online ticketing, there’s no need to beat the crowd because advance ticket purchase allows patrons to reserve their favorite spot in the theatre. But, it’s still recommended to plan ahead, get there early to place the dinner order and get settled in for the evening.

With all these offerings, it may be the first dinner theatre in the Valley, but it probably won’t be the last.
