McALLEN – The South Texas Rolleristas, the Rio Grande Valley’s first and original flat track derby league, will be kicking off their 2014 season this Saturday, March 1. This bout will be an exhibition match featuring the new skaters for this season.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the action starts at 7 p.m. at the DeLeon Sports Park Pavilion, 4201 N. 29th Street.
The exhibition allows new skaters to experience the action before the interleague bouts begin next month. The themed bout, “The Night of the Rolling Dead,” pits the Walkers team against the Survivors. Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite zombie costume.
As always, there will be suicide seating available for a premium price allowing fans to get up close and personal with their favorite Rolleristas.
Presale tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/577587. The team is also selling season passes for $25 per person which are available from any team member.
The league is always looking to expand their roster. Women of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join. No experience is required, and all skating levels are welcome.
