The Sharyland Athletic Booster Club is planning a Fundraiser Concert featuring Top 40 singing star Chris Wallace. The Concert is planned for Saturday, April 12, at the SHS Rattler Stadium on Business 83 at Shary Road in Mission.
The concert features the “Battle of the Bands” where local high school “garage” bands are invited to post their videos on the Entravision Communications Facebook page. The group receiving the most votes will be selected for a personal audition, and the judges will then select the top four to six groups that will perform at the concert with Wallace.
“We are very excited to be a promotional partner this event for the Booster Club,” said Alex Duran, Entravision program director. “Chris Wallace was one of our groups at Mix-Mas in December, and he was a great crowd pleaser.”
Any local high school band can enter by logging on to www.mix1079.com and click on the “Battle of the Bands” link to upload their video. Online voting runs through March 31; April 1to 7, finalist are interviewed; and April 8 to 11, the finalist will be announced and then perform at the April 12 concert.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for general admission and $15 on the field. Tickets are on sale at the following locations: Spikes Ford in Mission; Marcos Burgers and Fries, 2507 E. Griffin Pkwy.; Vitamin Power, 201 Shary Rd.; and Xpress Dental, 2200 Trenton Rd., Suite 3A in McAllen.
