The show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at the McAllen Creative Incubator located at 601 N. Main. “Lost in YouTube videos, in a world with billions of channels, and millions of apps or games, sometimes people forget the sensation of a live show,” said Nancy Millar, vice president of the McAllen Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.

“There’s nothing that matches being one of a crowd, watching musicians express their passion live, right before your eyes, enjoying music first hand. It truly is entertainment at its finest.” The event features food, adult beverages and a silent auction. New this year, there will be a chocolate dessert bar. Alyse Black’s musical journey began in Seattle where she was discovered on the streets of Pike Place Market singing her tunes for pocket change.

A passing musician took notice of her impressive voice. That night her journey began when she performed with his band. Black has won Billboard’s Annual World Song Contest as well as the Independent Singer-Songwriter Awards.

Her song “The Produce Song” is also featured in an upcoming Target commercial. She has toured in prestigious venues countrywide. Leigh Holles Band, a local blues band, will be adding to the night’s experience. “Their music is blues style and it will definitely make your heart happy,” said. “People loved their music so much last year we decided to bring them back.” Mario Aleman is another local favorite and seasoned performer. He won first place at the Art Institute of Dallas' Guitar Wars competition and has performed for former President Bill Clinton. The RGV resident is currently promoting his new CD, Soulspeak, which showcases his raw talent.

“Mario is moving away from the Valley soon to Las Vegas to continue his musical career,” said Millar. “As one of his last shows in McAllen, this blues performance is a must-see addition to this year’s line-up.”

Tickets are available for purchase for $25, and Millar recommends getting them early as the event sold out last year. Call 682-2871 to purchase.
