EDINBURG — The University of Texas-Pan American Police Department and other law enforcement officials were investigating a suspicious death of an adult female whose body was found near an external staircase of the Science Building on campus Monday morning.
Identification of the woman, whose body was discovered shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, is pending.
District officials said there was no imminent danger to the university community and the investigation has been contained to the Science Building.
The university issued campus alerts to students, faculty and staff about the incident. The Science Building has been evacuated until further notice and all classes scheduled for Monday in the Science Building have been cancelled.
