Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election begins today. Voters who are registered to vote in Hidalgo County may vote at any polling site in the county during the early voting period, which runs from Oct. 22 through Nov. 2.

No voter ID is required in this election. However, as in previous elections, voters must provide either their voter registration card or another form of valid ID. A valid ID could be a driver’s license, another form of photo ID, birth certificate, passport or a current bank statement or utility bill showing the voter’s name and address. Other forms of ID may also be acceptable as approved by the secretary of state.
