Maria Hurtado, exhibit designer, and Vernon Wernecke, archivist and curator, encase one of the displays, now on view through Oct. 1 in the Annex Building, 200 E. Tom Landry. La Lomita Chapel has become the representation of the history and pride of Mission, says Casandra Karl, Mission Historical Museum executive director. The newest MHM exhibit, “La Lomita Chapel: Symbol of Mission,” contains images and artifacts of La Lomita, history, and its significance to the community. An opening reception and a blessing by Rev. Roy Snipes, OMI, is set for Saturday, June 25, at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public; donations are accepted.
