Agua Special Utility District has received $8 million to help fund a wastewater collection system in Palmview, according to U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar.
“Residents of Palmview will benefit from a vital infrastructure update with the construction of a wastewater collection system, which will improve quality of life and environmental standards,” Cuellar said. “I thank our partners at the North American Development Bank as well as the mayor of Palmview and the city council for their excellent work on this grant and look forward to our continued partnership.”
Of the $44.3 million project, $36 million came via the Texas Water Development Board in 2013. The remaining $8 million is coming from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through the Border Environment Infrastructure Fund (BEIF), which is administered by the North American Development Bank.
