Early voting begins Monday on Propositions
The Texas Constitution, first adopted in 1876, has been amended over 400 times. State legislators are asking voters to approve ten new amendments (propositions) this fall. Early voting for the Texas Constitutional Amendment Election runs Monday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Nov. 4, with actual election day on Nov. 8.
A summary of each proposed amendment appears in the Explanatory Statements for the November 8, 2011 Texas Constitutional Amendment Election.
The Progress Times has also posted a PDF file on its website listing the Early Voting locations and Early Voting times, as well as a sample ballot.
For those who would like more information about the proposed amendments, the Condensed Analyses of Proposed Constitutional Amendments prepared by the Texas Legislative Council has also been posted on the Progress Times website.
Note that while registered voters may cast their ballot in the Constitutional Amendment Election at any early voting site in the county, Sharyland ISD residents who wish to vote in the Sharyland ISD Bond Election must early vote at Mission Fire Station No. 3, located at 1804 N. Shary next to Bannworth Park.
