On Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m., Lou Ann Gramann will be presented in concert by the First Presbyterian Church of Mission as a part of their Celebration Sunday Concert Series. She will be joined by David Bowen, pianist.
The concert series is now in its 14th year. All concerts are held in the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Mission, 1102 Ash. These concerts are open to the public and free of charge.
Mrs. Gramann is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, teacher, conductor, and author of Latin American songs for harp. She received music education degree from Houston Baptist University in 1982, and her master’s from Sam Houston State University in 1990.
She was an associate director for the St. Louis Symphony Children’s Choir, which premiered several of her choral compositions. Her opera, “The Legend of the Bluebonnet,” was premiered in Illinois in 1998. She has taught band, choir, orchestra, Suzuki strings, harp, flute, piano, and undergraduate music in Texas, Missouri, and Indiana.
