Christian recording artist Jeremy Camp comes to Valley Nov. 17

20111104_ENT_Jeremy-CampGrammy-nominated Jeremy Camp returns to the Valley on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the McAllen Convention Center at 7:30 p.m. for his 29-city tour, “We Cry Out: The Worship Project.”  Coming to the stage with Camp will be special guests Francesca Battistelli, Adam Cappa, and McAllen’s own Crawford Higgins.

Reserved tickets are $20, $35 and VIPs for $60.  VIP tickets include a question and answer session with the artists and early entry to the show.  Group purchases of 10 or more receive a $5 discount.  Go to the Convention Center box office, 10 a.m. -5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or 10 a.m. to show opening on the event date.  Doors open at 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 6:30 p.m. for others. Tickets may also be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.

Camp, a contemporary Christian musician from Indiana, has sold three million records, charted 19 No. 1 hits and released a book, I Still Believe.  The tour follows the recent release of his radio single, “The Way.”  Camp is a two-time American Music Award nominee and was Billboard’s No. 3 Christian Artists of the Decade.  He has had five songs in the Top 50 Billboard Christian Songs of the Decade, four ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and one Song of the Year awards.  He has received five Dove awards, including two-time Male Vocalist of the Year.

Battistelli, is the Dove Award Artists of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.  Her “Hundred More Years” album debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Christian Album Chart and No. 16 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart.  She has received a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Song Performance, five Dove awards, and 15 Dove nominations.

Vocalist and guitarist Cappa has performed the opening sets for Camp during the tour.  His new album, “The Rescue,” was released Nov. 1, with the debut recording of the single by the same name.

Valley native Higgins began his ministry in 2005 at his home parish of Holy Spirit Church in McAllen.  He plays guitar and has ministered to youth groups across the Valley and throughout Texas.  He currently resides in San Antonio while attending the University of the Incarnate Word and works with youth in the area.
