ALTON — City officials as well as the Greater Alton Chamber of Commerce are seeking sponsors for the upcoming sixth annual Christmas Parade and festivities to be held on Dec. 17 at 11 a.m.
Festivities include a toy giveaway to be held at the community center following the parade.
Officials said in the past, many business leaders and residents have come forward to demonstrate their generosity and civic pride and to see that the children of Alton have a fun-filled event.
Santa Claus will deliver a gift to every child who comes to this special event.
The city is facilitating a toy drive. To become a gold sponsor, a citizen must donate $1,000 to the effort. Silver sponsors donate $500 while bronze sponsors donate $250. In recognition of their generosity the names of sponsors will be published in the newspapers, flyers and on the city’s website.
Businesses are also welcome to participate in the parade.
For questions call Baudelia Rojas at Alton City Hall at 956-432-0760 or Assistant City Manager Steve Peña at 956-583-7000. Checks in support of the event should be made payable to the Greater Alton Chamber of Commerce and mailed to 509 S. Alton Blvd., Alton, TX 78573.
