The leak flooded the Precinct 3 Justice Complex at 730 Breyfogle Rd. The offices are tentatively scheduled to open Feb. 22, pending the progress of the cleanup.
Court hearings will be rescheduled as soon as the location is safe and sanitary for staff and the public. In the meantime, other court business can still be conducted by mail, said Daisy Zarate, court coordinator for Justice of the Peace Melo Ochoa. Residents can mail payments and respond to civil cases by mail.
A clerk from the Precinct 3 Constable’s Office of Larry Gallardo is also stationed at the front of the offices to give information to the public that may not know about the closure.
The main phone lines for the Justices of the Peace will be updated as more information becomes available or if the offices need to be closed longer than anticipated.
