Mission High School band drum majors recently joined others in the area at the Contempo Leadership Camp where they worked on conducting, leadership, teaching and problem solving techniques. The camp ends with a competition between the drum major teams. Each team conducts one movement of their 2012-2013 UIL contest marching show.
The drum majors from MHS were awarded first place by camp director, Kara Alvarez-Calderon, and were selected to perform an exhibition at the camp closing ceremony. The drum majors were Marlen Villarreal, assistant drum major; Nancy Colunga, head drum major and Rosendo Islas, assistant drum major.
