MISSION – Two men were charged Friday afternoon for burglary of vehicle. One of the men was also charged with theft of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon after a purse he has been accused of stealing was found to contain an off-duty Border Patrol agent’s personal firearm.
After over 11 hours of searching for a suspect’s vehicle, Mission Police, with the help of Weslaco Police Department, arrested two men believed to be involved in a series of vehicle burglaries. The suspects are accused of stealing purses from vehicles in at least three Hidalgo County cities.
Police recovered the agent’s firearm along with several purses after the arrests.
