La Joya Independent School District recently announced the filing dates for candidates that want to have their name on the ballot for the upcoming school board election on November 6. The start date for filing is July 23. Filing deadline is August 20.
Candidates can pick up applications at the LJISD central administration building located at 201 East Expressway 83, in La Joya, during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applications can be dropped off in person or mailed to the same address attention to Irma Herrera.
The five seats up for re-election are currently held by Narciso V. Solis, Esperanza Ochoa, Irene M. Garcia, Isaac V. Sulemana and Arnoldo Ochoa.
