MISSION — After having been temporarily relocated for several weeks due to damages from a water leak, Hidalgo County officials announced Thursday that the offices for Justices of the Peace Luis Garza and Ismael “Melo” Ochoa are scheduled to reopen on Monday, March, 21, 2011.
Last month, an overnight water leak flooded the Precinct 3 Justice Complex at 730 Breyfogle Rd., making both offices unsuitable for use.
To ensure that there was not a significant lapse in government services, both JPs were temporarily relocated to alternate facilities while county officials restored the buildings. During this time, JPs Garza and Ochoa conducted business from temporary facilities located near their offices in the same Precinct 3 Justice Complex.
On Thursday, both JPs, including staff, furniture and equipment, were in the process of being moved back into their respective offices.
Both offices are expected to be fully functional on Monday. Residents will be able to conduct normal business at both JP offices, which will be open from 8 am to 4:30 pm at their regular, permanent locations:
