LA JOYA—La Joya Independent School District is holding registration for pre-kinder, middle and high school students. Registration dates, times and locations vary, depending on campus and grade level.
Pre-kinder registration is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Benavides, Fordyce, Tabasco, JFK and Peña Elementaries have already held their registration. Registration is planned for Gonzalez, Flores, Leo, Escandón, Reyna and Camarena Elementaries on July 29 and 30.
Pre-kinder registration will be held July 31, Aug. 1, and Aug. 5 to 7 at Bentsen, Pérez, Chapa, Cavazos, Paredes and Mendiola Elementaries. De la Garza, Díaz-Villarreal, Seguín, Garza, Zapata and Clinton Elementaries will hold registration for pre-kinder on Aug. 8 and 12 to 15.
Items required for registration include parent or guardian identification; child’s original birth certificate (the child must be four years of age before Sept. 1, 2013); child’s social security card; child’s health record/immunization record; proof of residence with the most recent utility bill or a notarized letter if bills are not under either parent’s name; and proof of income with a current paycheck stub, documentation for self-employment or cash income, or notice of eligibility to receive Temporary Assistance to Needy Families or Food Stamps.
Middle and High School Registration
Middle schools and high school will hold registration from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for last names beginning with N-Z and 1 to 4 p.m. for last names beginning with A to M.
Registration for seniors and sixth graders will be held on Aug. 12, Aug. 13 for juniors and seventh graders, and Aug. 14 for sophomores and eighth graders. Freshmen can register on Aug. 15.
A high school registration make-up day will be held on Aug. 16. Middle schools will have registration make-up day on Aug. 15.
La Joya and Palmview High School students will register in their gyms. Registration for Juarez-Lincoln High School will be held in the cafeteria. La Joya West and East Academies will have the registration at La Joya and Juarez-Lincoln High Schools. Registration for the College & Career Center will be held at Jimmy Carter High School F-Hall. The first floor library at Jimmy Carter will host registration for Jimmy Carter Early College High School. Registration for Thelma Salinas STEM Early College High School will be held at their location.
The cafeterias at Lorenzo De Zavala, Cesar Chavez, Memorial, Ann Richards, J.D. Salinas, and Domingo Trevino Middle Schools will host their registration. Ann Richards will also have registration in their dance room. Irene Garcia and Dr. Javier Saenz Middle Schools will host registration in their gyms.
