20130927 Alicia-Carmona-at-commencementThe Texas Migrant Interstate Program will honor the salutatorian of Mission High School’s class of 2013 as an Exemplary Migrant Student. Alicia Carmona is one of nine students to be honored at the Association for Migrant Educators of Texas Conference in November. Carmona and the other eight honorees were selected from 126 nominations that were submitted.

Carmona is currently attending Texas A&M University in College Station. She is pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering.

The Texas Migrant Interstate Program is a special project of the Texas Education Agency designed to facilitate the intra and interstate coordination of information and services for migrant students.
