MISSION - Antonia Longoria, 82, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Longoria had been employed with the La Joya ISD for about 20 years.

PENITAS - Aguedita Farias, 90, died on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
PENITAS - Visitation for Aguedita Farias will be held Monday, October 17, 2011, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Graveside service will follow at Penitas Cemetery.
MISSION - Visitation for Cirilo Pacheco will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
A funeral service for Cirilo Pacheco will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Interment follows at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Loretta Walsh, RN, MSN, M.Ed, who served Mission and McAllen as a nurse for over 54 years, passed away Thursday, October 13 evening at Mission Regional Medical Center.
She worked in Mission Hospital for 35 years as a surgical nurse, and in orthopedics, medical/surgical pediatrics, and emergency care. When the Mission Hospital was built in 1951 she oversaw setting up and equipping the surgical suite. She worked at the McAllen Independent School District as staff nurse for special education students, where she was instrumental in providing a safe, nurturing environment in which students with special medical needs could thrive and remain productively engaged with learning.
ALTON - Carlos Vargas Jr., 52, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. He was born in Edinburg on September 29, 1959.
MISSION - Robert Griffith Brown, 70, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011.
Born April 29, 1941, in Binghamton, New York to Raymond and Helen Griffith Brown, he resided in Houston for many years and was employed with Dixie Chemical Co., Inc. He graduated with a doctorate in 1973 from Clarkson University.
MISSION - Jesus "Chuy" Garza Jr., 91, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at his residence in Mission.
Garza was born and raised in Mission, and following his graduation, he entered the military where he served in Cairo, Egypt during WWII. After his military service, he was employed by Barrera Supply Company in Mission.
PALMVIEW/MISSION - David Andrew “Andy” Guajardo, 22, lost his battle to leukemia on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011. He was born on June 26, 1989, in McAllen, to Pete and Paula Guajardo.
MISSION - Ricardo G. Iruegas, 51, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

MISSION - Wade Welch, 53, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011.
Mr. Welch Wade was born on July 5, 1958 in McAllen. He graduated from PSJA High School and then graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in business.
MISSION - Remigio Escobar, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 in Mission. A funeral service was held Oct. 10 at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
MISSION - Jesus Garza Jr., 91, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at his Mission residence.
McALLEN/MISSION - David Gonzalez Jr., 27, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
MISSION - Javier C. Morando, 40, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
MISSION - Alma Rita Roque, 50, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 in Mission.
MISSION – A memorial service for Margaret Ruth Shane was held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Enchanted Valley Ranch Rec Hall.
