MISSION - Alma Beatriz de la Garza, 68, left to be with our Lord on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
She was born to Remigio Escobar, Jr. and Agustina Moreno on Feb. 12, 1943 in Granjeno, Texas.
Alma was a very beautiful and caring woman known by many and loved by all. Alma's passion was her deep faith, her family especially her best friend and her only daughter, Anabel. With Anabel and her favorite son-in-law, Serjio, Alma had it all, and she needed nothing. She loved her three sons, Angel or Angelio as she called him, Alan and Aaron. She is now reunited with her sons, Alan and Aaron. She adored all seven of her grandchildren as they were her pride and joy.
MISSION - Edward Antonio Mujica, 21, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in McAllen.
A funeral service for Edward Antonio Mujica will be held at 10 a.m. held at Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Lord & I Memorial Chapel in Penitas. Burial follows at Lord & I Cemetery.
MISSION - Darrell C. Godfrey, 71, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
MISSION - Gabriel Espinoza, 79, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, his Mission residence.
Juan J. Vela, 61, was born on Sept. 11, 1950, and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011. After a brave series of battles with his health, Juan passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
MISSION – Jose G. “Lupe” Vela, 66, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission.
MISSION - Gildardo H. Longoria, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
SAN ANTONIO – Nora B. Holland, 86, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Vitas Hospice Care in San Antonio. Her loving husband and family were with her at the time of her death.

MISSION - Mission – Carlos “Red/Kinny” Guerra, 52, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at the Comfort House in McAllen after a 10-year battle with brain cancer. He was a long-time resident of the Rio Grande Valley.
MISSION - Infant Shanty Trevino died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at McAllen Medical Center.
MISSION - Sila V. Juarez, 92, passed away at Mission Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011. She was born in La Grulla on September 25, 1919 to Ramon and Irene Vera.
PENITAS - Cleotilde L. Garza, 87, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born to Guadalupe Longoria Sr. and Cleotilde Martinez on December 18, 1923 in Penitas.
MISSION - Sanjuana Carrillo, 64, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
She will always be remembered for the great love she had for her family.
MISSION - Pastor Eliud Bocanegra, 63 entered the gates of heaven to be with his Savior early in the morning on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
He was a pastor for over 35 years in Madero and McAllen, and was the pastor at Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana in McAllen. He was born in Galeana, NL. Mexico.
