MISSION - Sheila Ann Young, 72, died Thursday, June 16, 2011.
MISSION – Michelle Nicole Trevino was born in Mission on December 12, 1986 and went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2011 in San Antonio.
She is survived by Gabriel Leija and their children, Jake Kurtis Leija and Kiri Kay Leija; Edgar Rodriguez and their children: Kaleb Ulysses Rodriguez and Brigette Elaine Rodriguez; mother, Melissa Sanchez Handy (Pete); father, Phillip Trevino; sisters, Felicia and Cecily Handy; grandmother, Elia Bazan Hooks; paternal grandfather, Luis Trevino; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her.
Preceding her in death were her infant son, Brian Leija; grandfathers, Jose Oscar Sanchez Sr. and Benito Hooks Sr.; and a grandmother, Paula Trevino.
Michelle enjoyed listening to music and was a good artist. She loved her family and friends. She has left a special place in our hearts.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 22, at Valley Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
MISSION - Margaret Ruth Shane, 91, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 12, 1920 in Savannah, Georgia and educated in Savannah schools, Armstrong Junior College, and Episcopal Convent in Catonsville, Maryland. After the convent, she worked a number of jobs in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area, mostly in food service.
She married Edwin H. Shane in Gaithersburg, Maryland on February 1, 1960, and resided in Takoma Park, MD until transferred with the Army Finance Center in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1974.
She retired from Carmel Clay Schools in 1980. An avid camper, they settled in Enchanted Valley Ranch in 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Shane; sister, Florence McGill of Longmont, Colorado; brother, Donald Tucker of Savannah, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. She and Ed celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on her 90th birthday on January 17, 2010.
