FORT WORTH – Herbert R. Melch Jr., 84, passed away Saturday night, Dec. 10, 2011, in Bonita Springs, Fla., after a long illness.

MISSION – A funeral mass for Jose Rios will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial follows at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Abram.
MISSION – Irene Peterson, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at McAllen Medical Center.
PALMVIEW – Bryan Azael Ochoa, 20, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in Palmview.
MISSION – Julio Guerrero, 71, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Life Care Hospital South in McAllen.
MISSION – A funeral service for Juan Angel Gallegos was held Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Virgil Wilson Chapel of Remembrance in Mission. Burial followed at Lord & I Cemetery in Palmview.
MISSION – Cremation services for Betty Archer will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
SULLIVAN CITY – David Sandoval, 50, left to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen. He was born to Salvador Sandoval and Josefina Guerrero on April 30, 1961 in Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Gloria Kramer Tenery, born in Rio Grande City on Mar. 6, 1932, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at the Medical Center of Plano.

MISSION - Mattie Evelene Smith, 95, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at her Mission residence.
MISSION – Carney C. Olson, age 90, passed away on Dec. 8, 2011 at Comfort House in McAllen.
Elli Steffan passed away at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen on Dec. 1, 2011 after succumbing to a brief illness.
MISSION - Aracelia Fuentes, 87, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
