MISSION – A memorial service for Francisca "Frances" Garza was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial of ashes followed at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
MISSION - Maria Hernandez passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 10 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission.
MISSION - William Knight, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Comfort House in McAllen.
MISSION - Frank Reyna passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Veterans Affairs Hospital in Houston.
MISSION - Dennis Marvin Olson, 69, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at LifeCare Hospital in McAllen.
MISSION - Martha Russell, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
She attended Roosevelt Elementary and Mission High School. Eugenia started working as a teenage retail clerk for the late Ernesto and Evita Moreno, whose grocery store was located on Fourth and Francisco Streets. She went on to work for the H.E.B food stores in Mission and McAllen for a total of 37 years, and won countless awards for her customer service. Eugenia loved interacting with her co-workers and incalculable customers throughout her 50-plus year career and truly missed them once she retired.
Eugenia was the proud daughter of one of the early pioneer families of Mission. Her father, Melchor, was a native Texan who had the distinction of owning the first barbershop business in the community.
MISSION - Visitation for Guadalupe Guerrero will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission.
MISSION - Louis Rivera, 73, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
MISSION - Anastacio Romo, 86, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at McAllen Heart Hospital. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peñitas.
