OBIT-Jose Apolinar Moreno

Jose Apolinar Moreno, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Solara Hospital in McAllen.

He was born on July 23, 1926 in Oilton.

Survivors include his son, Jose Guadalupe Moreno; daughters, Juana Maria Moreno Ruelas, Rebecca Rodriguez, Dora Moreno and Marylou Marisol Moreno; sister, Angelita M. Oviedo; and 9 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Secundino Moreno and Rita Lopez, and wife, Lilia Moreno.

The funeral mass was held on June 7 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

OBIT-Mary F. Laur

MISSION - Mary F. Laur, 79, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2013, at Mission Regional Medical Center.

She was a teacher for ECISD and taught at both Flann Elementary and Austin Elementary. She played the organ and piano at Conway Avenue Baptist Church in Mission.

Survivors include her husband, Neal Laur; son, Kevin Conatser; and daughter, Kristi Nichols.

A memorial service was held at Conway Avenue Baptist on June 9.

OBIT-Adelina Hinojosa

PALMVIEW - Adelina Hinojosa, 53, of Palmview passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013, at her residence.

Survivors include her children, Ricardo Hinojosa Jr., Yolanda Hinojosa and Fermin Hinojosa; parents, Arturo and Baudilia Gonzalez; sisters, Alicia Perez and Anita Estrada; brother, Arnoldo Gonzalez; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Arturo Gonzalez Jr.

The funeral service was held June 10 at St. John the Fields Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at L& I Cemetery in Palmview.

OBIT-Jacinta G. Hernandez

MISSION - Jacinta G. Hernandez, 65, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Village Healthcare and Rehabilitation in McAllen.

Mrs. Hernandez was born in Mexico on Aug. 15, 1947 to Alvino and Maria Molina.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ventura Hernandez; children, Francisco Hernandez, Santos Hernandez, Ventura Hernandez Jr., Pablo Hernandez, Bernabe Hernandez, Delia Rodriguez, Jose M. Hernandez, Paulita Ayala and Jacinto Hernandez; and 25 grandchildren and five great-granchildren.

Visitation was held June 6 at L and I Memorial Chapel in Peñitas

ABRAM - Ramon Gonzalez, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home in Abram.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1927 in Abram.

Survivors include his wife, Basilisa Gonzalez; daughters, Raquel Chriwala of Houston, Rosalva Sosa of McAllen and Rebecca Ramirez of Abram; sons, Ramon Gonzalez Jr. of Abram, Rolando Gonzalez of Houston and Rogelio Gonzalez of Edinburg; sisters, Trina Basan of Pharr and Lola Vargas of Weslaco; and 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dionicio and Santos Cavazos Gonzalez, and son, Roel Gonzalez.

The funeral mass was held on June 7 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abram. Interment followed at San Jose Cemetery in Abram.
