MISSION - Rev. Samuel Sol Sr., 69, son of Cleofas Sol and Mercedes Astudillo, passed away August 31, 2011. He was born in Arriaga, Chiapas, Mexico on July 24, 1942.
He was a very charismatic man who left an impact in every life he touched. He was a retired minister, serving 47 years sharing the gospel of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marsela Sol; sons, Samuel Jr., Santiago, Steve, Adam and Jeremy Sol; sister, Jovita Sol-Astudillo; brother, Israel Sol; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Romeo Sol and Eleazar Sol, and a sister, Inez Chable.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Interment follows at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
