MISSION - Rene Javier Alvarado, 57, died on September 9, 2011 at McAllen Medical Center.
He was born in Laredo to the late Salvador Alvarado and Ruby Center. Mr. Alvarado was an oilfield contractor in the Mission area, one of the founders of GOTCO and owner and operator of Alvarado Lease Services. He was a member of Iglesia De Cristo in Alton.
He is survived by his bothers, Clarence A. Center Sr. from Edinburg, Juan Gerardo Center, Andrew Alvarado, Ernest Alvarado and Alfredo Alvarado, all from Laredo, and Oscar Center from Lytle; and a sister, Maria Cristina Alvarado from North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Salvador Alvarado.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, with a 7 p.m. service at Elizondo Mortuary & Cremation Service. Heriberto Galdino will officiate.
