PENITAS - Cleotilde L. Garza, 87, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born to Guadalupe Longoria Sr. and Cleotilde Martinez on December 18, 1923 in Penitas.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ramon (Beatrice) Garza Jr., from Chicago, Illinois, Samuel (Rafaela) Garza from La Joya, Raul (Toni) Garza from Chicago, Felipe (Alma) Garza from Washington, D.C., Jerry (Noemi) Garza from Palmview, Dalinda G. (Bill) Zachary from Dallas, Sylvia G. (Jose Luis) Hernandez from Penitas, Viola G. (Juan Pablo) Trevino from Palmview, Alva G. (Jerry) Davis from Edinburg, and Pam G. Mercado from Penitas; siblings, Jose Maria Longoria from La Joya, Crisoforo Longoria from Filmore, California, Francisca Garcia from Penitas, Teresa Hernandez from Madero, and Maria Barrios and Gerardo Longoria from Monterrey, N.L., Mexico; and 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Garza Sr.; parents, Guadalupe Longoria Sr., and Cleotilde Longoria; sisters, Margarita Longoria and Bertha Garza; brother, Guadalupe Garza Jr.; and grandson, Sammy Garza Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Lord & I Memorial Chapel in Penitas. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Penitas. Interment will follow at Penitas Cemetery.
