MISSION - Mission – Carlos “Red/Kinny” Guerra, 52, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at the Comfort House in McAllen after a 10-year battle with brain cancer. He was a long-time resident of the Rio Grande Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Araseli C. Guerra; daughter, Abigail Guerra; sons, Ruben Guerra and Arturo Reyes; mother, Ofelia M. Guerra; sisters, Diana B. (Roger) Sullivan, Yolanda (Jorge) Florido and Veronica (Beto) Salinas; brother, David Guerra; half-brother, Javier Guerra; sons from a previous marriage, Eric (Mindy) of Mission, Carlos Jr., Ricardo and Daniel Guerra of Holland, Michigan; other sons, Hector Guerra and Carlos Guerra; and numerous grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father, Gerardo Guerra, and brother, Juan Gerardo Guerra.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
