MISSION - Leo Madrid Robles, 78, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Robles was a veteran of the U.S. Army with several tours in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a Master Sargent with over 21 years of service. He was later employed with the City of Pharr as the maintenance supervisor before retiring after 20 years of service.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Jose and Rita Madrid Robles; sisters, Mary Andrade, Amelia Borjorquez, and Cuca Robles; and brothers, Tony Robles and Nacho Borjorquez.
Mr. Robles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margie Rivera Robles; children, Michael Lee Robles, Pamela Ramirez, Patricia Lynn Robles and Scott Robles; sister, Sally Hernandez of Casa Grande, Arizona; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, at the RGV State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Pallbearers will be Edward Ramirez, Tomas Ramirez, Albert Ramirez, Hugo Rangel, Ramon Bazan and Lee Espinoza.
