MISSION — Carroll Junior Washburn passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.
He was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa, in 1924 where he resided for 87 years. He worked with his father on the family farm until his father's death, and he continued to manage the family farms. He also worked with the U.S. Postal Service until 1984. He and his wife, Marilyn, began wintering in the Rio Grande Valley in 1985, eventually settling in at Aladdin Villas in Mission.
He is survived by his wife, four children and three grandchildren.
