MISSION — Dario Rivas, 101, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at his residence in Mission.
Mr. Rivas was born to Jose Rivas and Manuela Peñaflor in Ripley, Okla. on Dec. 12, 1910. He was a master mechanic and master welder.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Antonia Rivas; children, Natalia Rodriguez, Jose Rivas, Dario Rivas Jr., Ruben Rivas and Roberto Rivas; 32 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A prayer service was held Jan. 12 at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Cremation followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
