OBIT: Lillian L. Moreno

McALLEN – Lillian Lyssy Moreno, 64, passed passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at her home after battling cancer.

She was born in McCook on August 4, 1947 and attended St. Paul’s School, Edinburg High School and Pan American University. She married Oscar Moreno on January 15, 1972 and raised her family in McCook, Sharyland and McAllen, and had a career in banking.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Oscar Moreno; sons, Oscar Jr., Stephen and David Moreno; brothers, Fred Lyssy of Lakewood, CO and Walter Lyssy of San Antonio; and three grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Irene Lyssy.

A funeral was held Jan. 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission with burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in McCook.  Rev. Roy Snipes officiated.

Pallbearers were Jim Mikeska, Preston Foose, Robert Garcia, John Hall, Steve Albinger, Ron Bruner and Michael Lyssy.

Memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Building Fund.
