MISSION - Rafaela R. Salazar, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mrs. Salazar was born on October 27, 1927, in Robstown to Abelino Rodriguez and Herminia Marroquin Rodriguez. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Teodoro Salazar; children, Rodolfo Salazar, Ana M. Tijerina, Rogelio Salazar, Irma Rodriguez, and Flor Estela Salazar; sisters, Amelia Colegio and Ester Farias; and 16 grandchildren.
Mrs. Salazar was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elia Rodriguez Guerra; and brother, Enrique Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 10, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Mission. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
